    Linkin Park

Linkin Park's "hybrid theory" of mixing Alternative, Electronica, and Rap has been a huge success. They continue to release hit after hit, year after year. Even my 53-year-old daddy has every Linkin Park album on his Zune (my mama won't let him get an iPod, seeing how Steve Jobs is the second biggest asshole in the world. [Donald Trump is the firs], and she only trusts Microsoft).

Their album "A Thousand Suns" is my favorite. I feel like it showcases lead singer Chester Bennington's voice more than their previous albums. Choosing an artist was hard for me. I wanted to put Of Monsters and Men, but realized that Linkin Park continually produce songs that I do not skip while my iPod is on shuffle. Their lyrics are outstanding, meaningful, and relatable. I have several favorites of theirs namely, Breaking the Habit (which is about drug abuse), Crawling (which is about withdrawals), and Waiting for the End (which to me sounds like it may be about rehab). I am not a drug-addict, but I do take powerful medication regularly so I know what physical addiction feels like. Withdrawals are, without question, the most uncomfortable experience. Linkin Park nailed the feeling. It really does feel like your skin is crawling.

Do you have any favorite songs by Linkin Park. Can you relate to any of their lyrics like me?

  • Funny what you wrote about Steve Jobs and Donald Trump, though a person can still like to use the product without liking the man ! I've read mixed thing about Steve Jobs since he died. Sometimes it was like reading such an amazing person died and it touched even the users of his products so much they were crying. And other times I read that he really wasn't a nice person. I suppose none of us really know the truth.... unless we knew him personally we can only sort of say what we have heard, but that doesn't mean any of it was reality.

Donald Trump I'm no fan of ! He may be a successful businessman, but he made himself seem like such an idiot in the last year by keep on talking about the whole Obama birth certificate thing. I mean there are much more pressing issues and for him to keep going back to that shows that he clearly would not have been a good leader. I am not so familiar with Lincoln Park these days. I know back when I was in highschool they had some songs that I liked, but I haven't really kept in touch with them in the last few years so I'm not sure how their music is these days.

Then again unless the radio is on at work I don't listen to too much music so I probably miss out on a lot of songs ! There are tons of songs out there and I would think there is a song that everyone could relate to, one of the cool things about music. Anyways take care and have a great weekend !

  • @kyle061685 - Oh, well my mom was pretty high up in Pixar back in the day, so she used to have to see him everyday. If I knew the guy personally I wouldn't want to make him any more richer. Now she's a Frito Lay exec. Left a cool job to eat some chips! Haha... actually I have no idea what her job is at Frito, but what the hell. Free Sun Chips!
